Malaga Airport driving directions
Information compiled by David Enrich, aviation and airport guide expert since 1999.
Getting to Málaga Airport by Car
Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is located just 7 km southwest of Málaga city centre and is easily accessible by road. The airport is well connected via major highways including the MA-21 (old N-340) and the MA-20 ring road, which links directly to the A-7 / E-15 Mediterranean Motorway.
Thanks to its strategic location, reaching the airport by private car is quick and convenient from most areas of the Costa del Sol.
If you are traveling during peak hours (summer or weekends), allow extra time as traffic around Málaga can become congested, especially on the MA-20.
Access & Drop-off Area
Passenger drop-off and pick-up is handled via the Express Parking (Preferred Departures Parking), located just outside the terminal.
Use the free 10-minute window efficiently — delays can quickly lead to parking charges.
Main Access Roads
The airport can be reached via two primary roads:
- MA-21: Direct access road to the airport (old N-340).
- MA-20: Málaga’s western ring road, connecting to all major highways.
For the fastest access, follow signs for “Aeropuerto” once you are on the MA-20 — signage is clear and well maintained.
Driving Directions by Area
If using GPS, search for "Málaga Airport (AGP)" or "Aeropuerto de Málaga" to ensure accurate directions.
Driving Time Estimates
Early morning and late evening are the best times to drive to the airport with minimal traffic.
